Anyone else bored silly?

bored Alice

Enough with the geriatric athlete that wants to be a woman who is married to a woman and has six kids. Really enough. I am happy she got to do what she wants. Now she is an example. Every poor transsexual person will think that is what it is all about. What it is all about is a little self-respect. She transitioned that is wonderful I am so happy she could afford to do it. Not all can. It does occur to me that if you are proud then you don’t have photoshopped pictures you get real. Now if we could just have some real news? I mean really does every news source have to cover this to death? Now we will have a tv series. Kris Jenner is queen of the marketing geniuses and had no line she won’t cross in making a buck. That goes for this whole crew. Sorry end of rant but I am just really sick to death of all of it.

Yup, thanks for saying it. Bored, tired, it isn’t really news, it’s stupid and it’s about money and power and a sense of personal entitlement. But since they played this all out, all over, everywhere, I do want to know if, post-op, there are regrets. But I bet if there are, that story will never see the light of day. Just because you CAN shake your fist at God and spit in His general direction doesn’t mean you SHOULD. Because there’s gravity. Because there are natural consequences to everything. I’d say, just because you can do anything doesn’t mean you should do it, even if you want to. If you’re going to support “elective surgery,” Operation Smile is a charity MUCH more deserving of funding and publicity than this. I’ll support Operation Smile before I’ll pay a cent for what they are calling “Reality TV.” It’s anything but real.

Point well made. Too bad organizations like that don’t get the coverage this nonsense did.

I was also thinking how not all transgendered people can afford to do the surgery, and how must that be for them to see the wealthy Caitlyn Jenner looking gorgeous and photo-shopped? It’s another reason I try to avoid fashion magazines. They are intended to make women feel less about themselves, even if it’s only superficial beauty. Apparently there’s a giant ad going up of a gorgeous bikini clad young thing telling us to “get our bikini bodies”.

“Every poor transsexual person will think that is what it is all about.”

Actually some of my transgendered friends have pointed out the class disparities between a celebrity athlete and the struggles non-wealthy trans-folk may face.

Most of them are poor and cannot afford all the treatments that he can. Reassignment surgery is outrageously expensive as are hormone treatments. They lead very difficult lives.
