Blogging bullies and silly fights.

fighting cats

Honestly I don’t get people that get hysterically riled by something someone writes. Two of my favorite blogs were attacked recently. Harsh Reality and Lucky Otter. Sure they may post blogs that are controversial. I have argued with both of them. We don’t always agree. That is what makes blogs interesting. Good grief if we all agreed on subjects we might as well just shut blogs down and all go home singing Cumbaya.

Being passionate I can understand, getting upset I can understand, not agreeing, thinking the other person is a total ass I can understand. It is the personal attacks I cannot understand.

Intelligent people do not resort to personal attacks to win arguments they find better arguments. Personal attacks are a good sign the person has blown the argument and is sending up smoke screens.

If you disagree with another blogger, walk away for awhile. That other blog ain’t going any where. Think about your argument, find data to backup your point of view. In other words grow the hell up.

People who do these personal attacks have no idea how much it turns the rest of us off. I tend to unfollow blogs like that because I can’t stand bullies and blowhards. I think a lot of us who quietly watch this nonsense feel when someone blows up and starts attacking someone else.

Recently I even saw how a persons wife was dragged into it. What kind of a vile coward brings a persons family into a damned internet argument?

You who are the victims of these sorts don’t bother to engage them. They are getting their entertainment by stalking and denigrating you. It is a form of control. Don’t let them have space in your head. They aren’t worth the time or effort. These people are in the minority let them shoot themselves down. It is bound to happen sooner or later.

Not much just some moronic trolls. Check out Otter’s blog for the whole story.

Hi Gale, yeah a big disagreement mixed with misunderstanding had gone on, and unfortunately is still going on – concerning mere differences of opinion. Sad because both bloggers are seriously a blessing to the net.

I tend to back off a no win argument. If people have made up their minds why bother?

I so agree with you! Stupid people! And as you said: not smart at all! Not intelligent at all. Just plain stupid. Great post, Gale!

So true, let’s just ignore those who get their rocks off by hating. Bullies are cowards, no exceptions. I’m proud to repost this…

I agree with you. I often disagree with the views voiced on Harsh Reality. However I have engaged with the blog and enjoyed the debate. Engaging with those one disagrees with, not attacking them is the way forward. I also agree with you, one should attack the view with which one disagrees and not the person expressing it. I have friends who hold differing opinions to mine on many subjects. They are good people, it just so happens that we don’t see eye to eye on every subject. Debate is healthy, personal attacks are not. Kevin

While I agree with most of your post I do believe those of us with the backbone for it are obligated to stand up to these creatures. It isn’t about the “online battle” or even really who is right or wrong. At this point, at least for me, it is about showing these people that they can’t just walk over anyone. I will always fight when I feel that is being done. Thanks for your kind words and the kind mention. I wish Otter luck too and I just might swing by to see what I can do for her. πŸ™‚ -OM

Troll? What troll? Oh, you mean OM’s playmate? I’m really not worried at all. I can’t see anyone worth listening to actually taking him seriously. Now, back to my cat pictures.

I’ve also engaged this troll you speak of. Got my name and blog smeared all over twitter and facebook, to my amusement. You would’a thought I was a nude model if you had seen how many times my name popped up with likes and re-tweets lol

He is a silly little coward that likes to play with pictures and screenshot software, and he goes running to WordPress with any little slight like a 5 year old that got his lunch money stolen. If you read anything that he writes, it’s all the same thing, post after post, just worded differently from time to time. Earlier today I noticed, I believe it was Scott up there, engaging with him as well. The poor thing couldn’t hold a candle to Scott’s arguments lol

Oh well, Jason is just toying with him at this point anyhow and I find it very amusing to sit and watch Jason play with him like a little rainbow yo-yo with a shiny new string.

Oh and one more little thing. I thought I was following you already Gail. I’ve seen other posts about the system force un-following blogs, so that must have been what happened. Oh well, never -the – less, I shall just re-follow you πŸ˜€

I think he is really unbalanced he went after me too after I asked him a simple question when he attacked Jason. Called me a Minion. I went out and got the outfit. Can’t imagine anything more entertaining than being Jason’s minion!! Just a jealous troll. I am so glad you are here or back or whichever it is!!

I believe I saw that interaction you had with him. I was reading something that Jason had linked to lol He is definitely unbalanced.

I didn’t bother to respond. He is obviously unhinged. The less attention he and people like him get the better.

Reading this post, and getting involved in this feud, and all the stuff that’s been going down has really made me think, it’s made me question what it is I do, and what I’ve written thus far. Thank you for writing a post that contributed to my line of thought and allowed me to write a conclusion which I’ll be releasing in a few minutes.

I have seen bits and bobs of the arguments (if you can even call it that – that would suggest some sort of intelligence behind it!) and I personally think that OM has handled his side of the battle with good humour and restraint. As many have already said, I don’t always agree with everything OM writes – that’s why I enjoy his blog, different points of view are always interesting. The other chap’s blog seems almost entirely devoted to Jason, which is a little creepy. It is amusing and baffling that a grown adult can behave in this way, really.

Yeah I kind of told them up front to go troll someone else’s blog, so (fingers crossed) I haven’t had anyone trolling my blog. Funny post. One of the trolls intrigued me so much I actually responded and tried to be fun to lighten the mood, but really… smh… troll comments will not be approved on my blog. Since your blog doesn’t feature swearing I’ll refrain. But ____ that. Too much to write about, too little time for people who don’t really like you anyway. Just write and be courageous and have fun. You and OM are both awesome and I really enjoy your blogs. I hope, as Jack Black said in Kung Fu Panda, “there is no additional charge for awesomeness.”

Why thank you so much. Being included in the same sentence with OM is humbling. He really is very good. No doubt the reason for his trolls. They hate anyone that has more success or does it better than they do. I had a stalker and a troll. All she did was post negative crap about me and a lot of others. She abandoned her blog. Nobody wants to read that garbage. I don’t think most of us are here for that. As for swearing I don’t usually when I write but I am a GI brat doubt there is much anyone can swear I haven’t heard before. One thing the stalkers and trolls do is pump up your stats. She still has her blog floating around on the internet calling me a bully which is really silly if anyone has ever read my blog but it brings me traffic. All good. I think you are awesome too. Most of my blogging friends are and I am glad for them.

Thanks for the reblog. Yea I don’t think that bloggers like that last very long. Attacks on others is unpleasant at best and really boring. I shut them off as soon as I see that is what they are. If you blog to attack others you really are wasting your time. Most of us could care less about that kind of blogging.

My pleasure and thanks so much for the reblog. Yea I was pretty pissed about losing one of my favorite blogs and having another favorite attacked. I think blogs attacking other blogs is just plain asinine if you are a good blog like yours and OM then people follow if not they don’t. Period end of story. If your blog isn’t that successful you need to look at yourself not others. Most bloggers are great and really supportive specially with baby bloggers. OM was very generous with his time and talents as you were and others when I first started blogging. It meant a lot to me and I imagine other bloggers as well.
